What are Conjunctions? How do they work/ Definition and Examples?

 A conjunction is a word that connects words, phrases, clauses, and sentences together. They help us in making easy to complex sentences elegantly.

  Conjunction is useful when we want to make lengthy sentences and don't want to break them. While using Conjunction we should keep one most important thing in mind the sentence has the same structure.

For Example:

✅I like washing and drying clothes, but I don't like to hang them up.

✅ I like to drink tea but don't like coffee because it tastes bitter.

✅Let me know if you want to stay here more.

✅Harry! Is your cat male or female.

After knowing some examples of conjunctions let's see these words in different categories of conjunctions below.

Paired Conjunction;

Paired conjunctions are those words that are used together to make a sentence. ''but, and'' are the most common examples of paired conjunctions. They help us in making the structure of a sentence.  While using them in a sentence we also use ''are'' or ''were'' with them as well.

  • Both the government and the farmers are satisfied with new prices.

  • The party was neither fun nor boring.

  • He not only spends money but also wastes a lot.

  • A. and
  • N. nor
  • B. but
  • O. or
